I’m not terribly surprised, CW doesn’t have too many shows and the ratings for all these have been pretty decent. Although still waiting, I think Nikita will make the cut this year. Not so sure about HC though. I liked the first half of the season, but I didn’t return to watching it after its break.

There were two things in this scene that were interesting, I think.

First: Julianne’s body language. Let’s skip through this pretty quickly.

Thank you, thank you! I was rewatching the episode last night (as I think it’s awesome, although many felt it was only good) and it struck me yet again, the tragedy of this scene. It’s hilarious until you stop and think that he’s doing these things to keep from being brutally raped. I mean… look at Lloyd.. It’s amazing that he hasn’t been punk’d. He’s not a bastion of physical prowess. This episode was so much more meaningful as a look at what some of the characters could have been. Lloyd could have become a Day if things had turned out differently, if he was a hair less smart, if he had run up against someone a bit more brutal and unperturbed by crazy or odor.

I felt this whole episode was a bit more of a commentary of the balancing act the writers are going. We love the characters, we sympathize with them, we even are rooting for them to get time off their sentences, we kinda of feel that Charlie is a rigid downer for being so disparaging of them…and yet at the end of the day.. They are cons that deserved to be punished and the prison is harsh because it is a punishment. “Prison is awful” was such an excellent summation of this and that Lloyd was the speaker esp poignant as, of the three cons, he probably has the worst time of it in prison. Not to mention the notions of the prison system creating worse criminals (i.e. Day was a stupid teenager going in but now is a violent murderer)

I have so much more to say on this, but I have to head to work! EEep!

Tonight’s SGU episode would have been a good finale as well. I’m so gonna miss this show :( Only a couple episodes left now I believe.
